I’m Miriam Joy, the youngest member of the St Mallory’s Forever! multi-headed author entity, as well as a writer of mythology-inspired urban fantasy. I’ve lived in South East London all my life, working through a fairly ordinary school and trying to appear as normal as a fangirling nerd ever can … I am, after all, a proud contributor to the Hamlet fandom.
Recently I became the assistant to the Teens Can Write Too! blog, which basically means answering emails and pretending to know what I’m talking about.
As well as writing, I do both ballet and archery, I play three instruments (violin, flute and piccolo), I make YouTube videos, blog (obviously) and am teaching myself two dead languages and a made-up one on top of my schoolwork. Despite this, I still manage to spend far too much time on Tumblr, which has led to an accumulation of quotes and facts and actors or TV shows that I’ll probably never, ever need… but I like to know them anyway.
I love mythology, especially Celtic and Norse, and hope to study them further at university. My music taste is eclectic to say the least, varying from Shostakovich to My Chemical Romance, taking in a lot of the stuff in between, although for writing I prefer film or TV soundtracks.
My short story The Eagle Child was published in volume one of the Saffina Desforges presents… Coffee Break Collections in November 2011, and I am the co-author of St Mallory’s Forever! which was released on January 24th 2013.
My username on Twitter is @miriamjoywrites. You can also find me on YouTube where I vlog or play music and dance. On Protagonize, the writing community, I’m also known as miriamjoywrites. And on deviantART (where I post cosplay pictures, drawings, and poems), I’m known as MiriamJoy. Plus, there’s a link in the sidebar so that you can ‘like’ me on Facebook
I hope to see you there!
